Thunderbeings

I can barely hear the thunder
It's not close enough
To make me fear and wonder
If my walls are tough
I've weathered many storms before
This time, I'm asking, oh! for more
The rain, it always washes pain away
I can barely feel the wind blow
Why is it so still?
I can see those black clouds building
From my window sill
I've gathered so much dark in me
I'm longing now to be set free
The rain, it always washes pain away
I often wish I didn't have to
Build and build and build
Instead, just stand alone to face the storm
I'm subject to it's will
I'd rather risk exposure
Than to share my heart with those
Who don't see the mercy in lightning:
One strike could send me home...
I can barely feel the rain drops
Gentle as can be
Instead of raging transformation
They're letting me be me
Thunderbeings are my old kin
Holding this child once again
The rain, it always washes pain away
